We are a Virginia Class A licensed contractor and have been roofing in Southside Virginia since 2017.

Roofing in Smith Mountain Lake and Bedford, Franklin and Pittsylvania Counties

Waterfront wind exposure. Open-water wind lifts shingle edges and drives rain under flashing. We use high-wind installation methods and seal every edge to manufacturer spec.

HOAs and townhome communities. We have replaced roofs for an entire HOA community at the lake in phases, on a deadline, while owners kept using their homes.

Standing seam metal and flat roofs. Many lake homes mix metal roof sections with low-slope decks and porches. We install both and handle the transitions between them.

Second homes. If you are not at the lake full time, we send photo and drone documentation so you can see the work without being there.

Verified These guys are awesome and really nice. They listened to what I needed and what I was going to do with this property in the future. They provided options and create a great plan with me. They replaced the old metal roof, took off the purlins, added sheathing, put on the new roof and insulated. The crew was really good and cleaned up perfectly. I do a lot of work myself and i know what things cost. They walked me through the costs and were really honest and fair. Super fast responses and getting things done (the crew worked the weekend). I don't know if i can say enough good stuff about this company and the people. Justin thank you for helping make this happen. I will be calling them when we add on.

Verified I honestly can't say enough good things about Shelter Construction. From start to finish, the whole crew was amazing. H.L., who did our estimate, took photos of our roof and took the time to go over them to show me exactly what the problems were. James, who handled the financing, didn't give up when we ran into a couple of snags in the paperwork and made sure we got what we needed in order to get the job done. Anytime I had any questions, day or night, I could always contact them and they would respond right away. The crew was completely professional and worked 12 straight hours in the middle of July to get the job done in one day. I would most definitely recommend Shelter Construction.

Verified We called 3 well known contractors to get an estimate to replace our roof and have new gutters installed. Kenneth of Shelter Construction was the only one to respond. He returned my call the same day I inquired and came out the next day to take a look at our roof. He had an estimate to us within a few days after that. The roof was finished in two days. We are very happy with the quality and workmanship. Everything was completed in a timely manner. Kenneth was very easy to work with. I highly recommend Shelter Construction.
