A roof leak gets more expensive every week it waits, and too many Danville homeowners end up paying twice: once for a cheap patch or a storm chaser who disappears, and again to fix it right. Shelter Construction Services is a Danville roofing company, not a crew that drives in from another state. Our office is at 1032 Cahill Court, and we have been replacing and repairing roofs across the city since 2017. We work on everything from early-1900s homes in the Main Street and Holbrook-Ross historic districts to brick ranches in Westover Hills and Forest Hills, plus commercial flat roofs downtown and in the River District.
We are not a high-pressure sales company. We measure, show you photos of what we find, explain your options in plain terms, and give you a written price. Many of our customers tell us we were the fourth or fifth roofer they called, and the first one who simply explained things.
Full tear-off to the deck, damaged wood replaced, new underlayment, ice and water shield in valleys, and new Atlas or CertainTeed architectural shingles. More on roof replacement.
Pipe boots, flashing, chimneys, skylights, missing shingles and active leaks. If a repair will solve the problem, we will tell you. Roof repair.
Photo and drone documentation, emergency tarping, and help through the insurance process. Hail damage · Wind damage.

We inspect the roof, check the attic where we can, and give you a written report and price. No charge and no pressure.
Tell us about your roof and we will call you back, usually the same business day. Prefer to talk now? Call (434) 724-8160 or text the same number.
Older housing stock. Many Danville homes are decades old and still have two or three layers of shingles, original plank decking, and box gutters that need to be opened up and rebuilt, not covered over. We tear off to the deck, replace soft wood, and tell you the wood count before the job starts.
Historic metal and slate. Main Street and the older neighborhoods have standing seam and slate roofs that are often 80 to 100 years old. When the old metal can no longer be repaired, we replace it with new standing seam that keeps the look of the house.
Summer storms. Afternoon thunderstorms along the Dan River bring wind and hail every season. We document storm damage with photos and drone images and can meet your insurance adjuster on the roof.
Commercial and flat roofs. Downtown buildings and warehouses commonly need TPO or PVC membranes. We installed the TPO system on the Danville Regional Airport terminal and on buildings along N. Floyd Street.

Atlas PRO+ Platinum Select is the top tier of the Atlas Pro contractor program. CertainTeed SELECT ShingleMaster is CertainTeed’s highest level of shingle installer credential. Both require manufacturer training and a track record of quality installs, and both allow us to register enhanced manufacturer warranties on qualifying roofs that most contractors cannot offer. For Danville homeowners, that means stronger coverage on materials and workmanship from the manufacturer, not just from us.
For commercial and low-slope roofs we are also certified to install Duro-Last and Elevate membrane systems.
Need a new roof but want to spread out the cost? Ask about 12 months, no payments on approved credit. See financing options.
Every roof is priced on its own measurements: square footage, pitch, how many old layers come off, how much decking needs replacing, and the material you choose. A metal roof costs more up front but lasts much longer. We measure your roof and give you a free, written, itemized price with no pressure. Financing with 12 months of no payments is available on approved credit.
