We were supplied by New South Metals with Standing Seam panels and accessories. The PVC Roof was supplied by Duro-last Roof Products. Is this a forever roof? Yes it is. Below is an image of a Standing Seam Metal roof that is Oil Canning. The pits are a result of the thermal expansion and contraction of the panels not being able to move and so it causes a buckling effect. This can be mitigated. ALWAYS ask to see properties that a Metal Roofing Contractor has installed and ask questions! This look can and should be avoided. It will cause your property to lose aesthetic value.
Methods to avoid Oil Canning on Metal Roofs :
Install metal Panels with factory pressed in striations that prevents the panel from turning and buckling. You can install flat pans and still avoid this look. Shelter Construction Services has a proprietary method to prevent this look.
